The BPW 2006 Scholarship winner is Patti Jones of Polson. She attends Salish Kootenai College majoring in Business Entrepreneurship. She is interested in becoming an accountant. She has a catering business on the side, and is a member of AIBL (American Indian Business Leaders) an organization that developes leadership skills. She is a single parent of two children.

The Missoula BPW offers scholarships to outstanding students with leadership qualities who are community service oriented and/or for non traditional students returning to college or vocational training.

Our 2005 Scholarship winners were announced at the November meeting:

Jessica Lanham, a student at U of M majoring in Business Administration.

Katy Croft, a student at Uof M College of Technology amd Mountain Campus majoring in Accounting Technology with a minor in Business Administration. She has started her own bookkeeping business.

Jennifer Lynn Hepner, a student at U of M Davidson's Honors College majoring in Communications and Anthropology/Forensics.

 

Joyce Hrouda worked 35 years for the Social Security Aministration and recently retired as Social Security District Manager responsible for the Northwest Region of MT. She spoke at our October meeting.
"Privatizing Social Security - Should we do it?"
The talk was recorded at Missoula Community Access Television (MCAT) and will be shown on MCAT starting Friday Oct. 21. @ 3pm and 7pm
and on Oct 22 @7:30pm (channels 7 and 13)
